New Website goes live

The New Isle of Barra Website Goes Live

Those who attended the very successful Annual General Meeting of Voluntary Action Barra and Vatersay were given a preview of the new Barra web page. Now live, the new website has been reconstructed, brought up to date and has a new fresh, sharp appearance. Photo galleries, film and webcams have been included with fresh new information and up to date news all going online. While not yet fully complete, work to populate all the sections is ongoing and all accommodation providers should be live by the beginning of the week.

www.isleofbarra.com, initially set up as a web training project when Barra Learning Centre was based with VABV, the web page attracts over 300,000 hits in the course of the year. Statistics for the web page have demonstrated the importance of isleofbarra.com for local business and tourism as for many prospective visitors to the island it is the first point of contact and source of information. The whole structure of the site is in place and there is ongoing work to fill in all the sections. More text and photos would be welcome especially from community organisations.
