Premieres on Wednesday 21st April at 9.00pm on BBC 2
Marine biologist and professional diver Monty Halls and his trusted dog Reuben return to the west coast of Scotland in the new series of Monty Halls’ Great Hebridean Escape.

This series, Monty faces a new challenge as he heads up north to the remote yet beautiful Hebridean Islands of the Uists and Barra. And this time he has a job to do, resurrecting the wildlife ranger post that disappeared six years ago due to lack of funding.

With empty white beaches, sandy grasslands and wild flowers, the Hebridean Islands are a haven for some of the most remarkable wildlife the British Isles has to offer. Home to eleven species of whale and dolphin, thousands of grey seals and countless pairs of wading birds, being a nature ranger to such an extraordinary place is a dream job for Monty.   Tourism is vital to the islands’ economic future so Monty wastes no time getting stuck into the job in hand and first on the agenda is repairing the self guided walking trails.  The aspiring ranger soon settles into island life, But working with a group of islanders who want to see results, Monty soon realises the scale of work which lies ahead. Will the job live up to Monty’s expectations? Can he really make a difference and leave his mark on the island forever?
