Firearms incident on Barra        

A 24 year-old male is presently in police custody following reports by concerned members of the public of a man in possession of a firearm in Castlebay, on Barra, about 4.30 pm yesterday afternoon.
 
The male was quickly traced and the incident was speedily resolved by attending officers.
 
A report has been made to the Procurator Fiscal.  The male concerned Is expected to appear at Stornoway Sheriff Court later today.
