Allan Welcomes Former Barra Priest To Parliament

On Wednesday, SNP MSP for the Western Isles, Alasdair Allan, welcomed former Castlebay Priest, Father Michael Hutson, to the Scottish Parliament. Father Hutson was delivering the prestigious Time for Reflection slot to MSPs.
 
Alasdair Allan commented: “Father Hutson was until very recently the priest at Our Lady Star of the Sea in Barra and has now taken up a new post at St Andrews Church on the Isle of Bute. Today provided a chance for me to meet up with him again and also to introduce him to him new MSP, Jim Mather.
 
“More importantly, Father Hutson who was selected from a shortlist of speakers by the parliament’s Presiding Officer had a chance to address parliament on a number of themes including the importance of speaking honestly and acting mercifully - good advice for any politicians!
 
“I am sure that both Barra and Bute will be delighted at the honour he was given today.”
