Set in quiet location 500yds from ferry terminal and approximately 8 miles from Barra Airport. Free transport to and from Ferry. There is a taxi and bus service connecting with all aircraft and Sound of Barra ferries.
We are within walking distance of Kisimul Castle ferry and would be happy to arrange your visit to the castle.

The local Heritage Centre is located 100yds from house.
Also within walking distance are the Tourist Information Centre, Hotels, Bank, Shops, Café and Swimming Pool
Visit the island of Vatersay and experience quiet secluded beaches, and an abundance of wildlife. See the "Annie Jane" memorial. The Annie Jane was a ship carrying some 350 emigrants and crew from Liverpool to Quebec in September 1853 and was shipwrecked on Vatersay during severe storms.
Barra and Vatersay have some designated Nature walks, described in booklets available locally.
Hill walking is available and the views from the top of Heavel(1260ft) stretch from Barra Head in the South, The Inner Hebrides to the East and the Isle of Skye to the North.
Boat trips to Mingulay are available and weather permitting you can sail under some of the highest cliffs (753ft) in Britain, go ashore on Mingulay and walk to the top of these same cliff's. The cliff's are home to thousands of nesting birds like Puffins, Gillemots, Kittiwakes, and Fulmars. Sea Eagle, Basking Shark and the occasional Whale can also be seen.
