Faire Mhaoldonaich is a few minutes drive from Castlebay, where the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry docks. 

Enjoy hill-walking, cycling, fishing, wildlife, bird-watching, beautiful white sands, golf and flowers (there are 1000 different species of flowers on the island)

In Castlebay there are shops, Tourist Information Centre, bank, post-office, cafe,library, swimming pool, sport centre, hotels, local bars, bike-hire and the Barra Heritage Centre.

Visit Kisimul Castle and the Barra Heritage Centre. Watch the plane land on the beach - this "airstrip" is washed twice daily by the sea. Take a trip to Mingulay and Eriskay or cross the Causeway to Vatersay.

This fertile island has lovely beaches and interesting coastal walks.
