The Craigard is superbly situated above the main village of Castlebay. As soon as the ferry turns into the harbour you can see the Hotel overlooking Kisimul Castle in the bay, the ancient seat of the MacNeils of Barra.

Barra has many beautiful safe beaches and countless coves and inlets, where you can swim, picnic or just pass a quiet undisturbed afternoon. There is a golf course, a Heritage Centre, Craft Shop and plenty of wildlife and historic sites to visit. The Craigard is in a perfect central location for shops, cafes, bicycle and car hire, swimming pool and library.
