Barra Games Are Back! |

Showers and sunshine, wind and rain on Sunday 18th July did not stop the Barra crowds turning out to support the island Games. The disappointing weather conditions did little to dampen the enthusiasm of the competitors though often the fastest times were made running for the tea tent when the heavy showers blew in across Borve Machair.
Well organised, well supported, and a day out enjoyed by all who attended! That is the verdict. The Games are back with a swing thanks to the determination and hard work of the organisers and the support of all the volunteers. Full Games results and Trophy winners.
The Highland Dancing Competition also went ahead , although the dancers were rained off their platform they re-assembled at Castlebay Community Hall to resume their competition. Again a lot of organising and hard work goes into this part of Games Day but a part that is much enjoyed by all spectators. Full results. |
